After reporting Friday afternoon that Hwy. 101 had been closed due to another slide on U.S. Hwy 101, and would not be opening prior to the week end, Hwy. 101 remained closed as of 4:00pm Sunday.
CalTrans reported late Sunday that Hwy. 101 would NOT be opening Sunday. Hwy. 101 remains fully closed due to continued slide activity through out the weekend at Last Chance Grade as rockfall and debris were constant.
CalTrans and Contractors on scene continued to work as long as possible into the night announcing late Sunday that conditions and the situation will be reassessed Monday morning and have announced an estimated reopening time by 9:00am Monday morning.
