40.3 Grams of Suspected Fentanyl Seized by Crescent City Police Officers

Crescent City Police Officers were dispatched Wednesday afternoon, June 25th, to the parking lot of Big 5 Sporting Goods located on Hwy. 101 in Crescent City, regarding a report of a possibly intoxicated man associated with a vehicle in the parking lot.

Upon arrival, 47 year old Steven Reed of Brookings, Oregon, was contacted at the scene by officers. Reed, was suspected by officers during the contact, of being under the influence of drugs, and drug paraphernalia was seen in plainview within the vehicle.

Reed became uncooperative during the contact and was arrested for obstruct/resist/delay of a Peace Officer. A subsequent search of the vehicle yielded drug paraphernalia and 40.3 grams of suspected fentanyl.

Reed was lodged into the Del Norte County Jail on multiple charges including, possession of a narcotic substance for sale, transportation of a narcotic for sale, Prior drug convictions, possession of narcotic, possession of drug paraphernalia, and obstruct/resist/delay a Peace Officer.
