Head coach Brian Carlson and his girls varsity soccer team continues to roll, dismantling the Douglas Lady Trojans who made the long trip from Winston Oregon Tuesday afternoon.

As the Bruin girls have demonstrated so far in league play, offensively, they intend to score early and often, pressuring opponents early forcing play in front of the opponents goal.

Tuesday afternoon was no exception. The Lady Trojans weren’t allowed to settle into the game as the Bruin girls relentlessly attacked from the wings and drove the ball to the center, creating multiple scoring opportunities before sophomore forward Kaiya Evans, #24, broke down the right sideline before pushing the ball in front of the Douglas goal and hit a left footed shot into the bottom right corner of the net to start the scoring just five minutes into the first half for the Bruin girls.

The pressure in front of the goal would then cost the Douglas defense once more within minutes after the Bruin girls again pushed a cross in front of the Lady Trojans goal that force the defense into an own goal after sophomore forward Claire Pieper, #3 attacked the crossing ball forcing the defender to block Pieper’s attack, defensively forcing the ball into their own net.

Less than a minute later, sophomore forward, #24, Kaiya Evans, would find the back of the net once again, scoring after breaking away behind the Lady Trojan defense and racing in front of the Douglas goal before launching a right footed shot into the left corner of the net, giving the Bruin girls a 3-0 lead just fifteen minutes into the game.

Not to be outdone, sophomore forward Sawyer Adams, #12, joined the first half scoring club, after chasing down a fast break opportunity right down the middle of the field and burying the shot behind the Douglas keeper to take 4-0 Bruin girls lead into the half time break.

In the second half, sophomore forward, #24, Kaiya Evans would complete her ‘hat trick’, scoring six minutes into the second half. Claire Pieper would find the goal less than ten minutes later before Gabby Dresen, #6, and senior mid-fielder Avery Hodge, #7 ended the contest after compiling and 8-0 lead.

The Bruin girls are on the road this Thursday, traveling to Glide to challenge the 1-1-1 Lady Wildcats with kick-off scheduled for 4:30pm.
