City of Brookings Mayor Isaac Hodges Announces His Resignation

In a Monday, November 17th press release from the City of Brookings, City of Brookings Mayor, Isaac Hodges, announced his plans to resign from his position as Mayor in January, 2026.

The announcement comes after Mayor Hodges disclosed his intent to resign at the Monday, November 10th, City Counsel meeting due to an upcoming move outside the city limits, making him ineligible to continue to serving as Mayor.

“It has been an honor to serve the city I’ve called home my entire life,” Mayor Hodges said. 

In accordance with the City Charter requirements, the vacant mayoral position will be filled by appointment made by the Brookings City Council.
