At approximately 9:00pm, Wednesday evening, May 28th, the Crescent City Police Department began investigating reports of a shooting at the Safeway parking lot in the direction of the Crescent City Cinemas.
Video posted on social media allegedly shows the shooter, in a red hoodie, fleeing the scene after shots were fired, and leaving the Safeway parking lot as a passenger in a black Chevrolet Traverse with a California license plate of EP007.
According to reports, one individual was sent to Sutter Coast Hospital with a gunshot wound.
At approximately 10:00pm, while actively investigating and still processing the crime scene, the Crescent City Police Department announced that they had identified a suspect and were seeking the public’s help in finding Russell Walters Jr., for attempted homicide.
