Early Thursday morning, November 20th, the Grants Pass 911 Center received a call from a victim on West Park Street in Grants Pass, stating an unknown male in his 40’s had broken a window and was crawling into the residence.
The male was described as being naked with tattoos and saying, “crazy stuff about saving them from Hermes and goddesses.”

Grants Pass Police Officers expedited their response to the scene and found the suspect had fled the residence with a stolen blanket, but the adult victim and two children were unharmed, however, the male suspect had reportedly been injured by the broken window when he entered the residence.
A police search with K9 partner Maro located the suspect hiding in the hedge of a neighboring yard.
The suspect, later identified as 39 year old resident of Merlin, Patrick Hermes, initially refused to identify himself before surrendering and being placed under arrest before and transported to the Three Rivers Medical Center for treatment of his wound.
Following medical clearance, Hermes was transported to the Josephine County Jail, where he was lodged on charges of Burglary in the 1st Degree, Theft in the 3rd Degree, Harassment, and a Felony warrant for Parole Violation.
