National Weather Service issues Extreme Heat Watches Through the Weekend

Off-shore ridging continues to produce conditions that are expected to keep daytime high temperatures 5 to 10 degrees above seasonal averages this weekend and into next week as the National Weather Service issues Extreme Heat Watches from just off the immediate coast and into central southern Oregon and northern California through the weekend.

Temperatures are forecast to be warmest inland under clear skies warming 5 to 10 degrees above seasonal averages to finish the work week with Extreme Heat Watches issued for inland areas. Temperatures are expected to warm to triple digits with afternoon highs expected to reach the low 100’s and relatively warm morning lows forecast to be in the low to mid to upper 60’s.

Along the coast a morning marine layer along the immediate coast and localized areas of morning fog are forecast under afternoon sunny skies to end the work week. Temperatures are expected to warm into the week end with temperatures reaching the low 80’s in some areas and morning lows in the low 50’s.
