Series of Eight Quakes Strike Off the Oregon and California Coasts Monday

A series of eight quakes struck off the Oregon and California coasts Monday, September 8th, with the earliest hitting just before 6:30am, and the latest striking just before 11:00pm.  

The first three in the series struck first just after 6:22am Monday morning, measuring 3.1 in magnitude before a 3.7 quake struck just after 9:00am with the final one in this cluster approximately 60 miles southwest off the coast of Eureka.  

There was also a cluster of five quakes with miles of each other just over 100 miles off the coast of Port Orford with the first quake measuring 5.8 on the Richter Scale at approximately 9:08pm with another quake measuring 4.4 in magnitude striking just minutes later at 9:15pm. A 2.7 magnitude quake struck at approximately 9:30pm before a smaller 3.3 at 9:38pm, and a larger 4.9 at 11:00pm.

No Tsunami’s were generated and no Tsunami warnings were issued regarding any of these quakes.
