Multiple agencies including the Port Orford Police Department, the Oregon State Police, the Brookings Police Department, and the Curry County Sheriff’s Office responded to reports of two men were involved in a confrontation at Buffington Park in Port Orford at approximately 12:30pm Monday, February 2nd.
According to a Port Orford Police Department press release, the confrontation between the two men at the park resulted in one of the men being shot by the other.
The gunshot victim, who suffered non-life-threatening injuries, was transported to a local hospital by ambulance.
The suspect, identified as 39 year old Robert Ryan Anderson of Port Orford fled the scene, and after an extensive search, Anderson remains at large.
The public is advised to not approach Mr. Anderson as he is presumed Armed and Dangerous and to call 911.
