Another season of Bruin Football Association’s flag football program kicked off Wednesday evening, June 25th, and hit the ground running with a new program and the usual excitement of cheering crowds and touchdowns.

Bruin High School varsity football coach Shaun Bavaro and the Bruin Football Association’s flag football program, part of the USA Football organization and member of the NFL flag football program, has grown it into an exciting summertime experience enjoyed by local boys and girls annually.

Part of the success of the program should be attributed the Bruin Football Association’s ability to have some of same coaches continue to stay in the program over the years, helping drive competition, strategy and complexity of the game.

“We want the kids to have fun and compete at the same time.” coach Bavaro continued. “That’s our main objective, and the Flag football program is just one of the ways the Bruin Football Association can provide multiple entry points to the game of football to our local youth.”
