On Thursday morning, May 26th, a Humboldt County Sheriff’s Office deputy conducting routine patrol in the Samoa Dunes Recreational Area in Eureka, observed a suspicious vehicle and upon investigation, the deputy identified the occupants as 38 year old Rick Camy, of Eureka, who was on formal probation for a prior drug-related conviction, and 43 year old Keara Loudon, of Scotia, who initially provided false identification.

Further inquiry revealed that Loudon was out of custody on bail and had an active arrest warrant.
A search of the vehicle was initiated by deputies in accordance with Camy’s probation terms and Loudon’s arrest warrant, uncovering significant quantities of suspected methamphetamine and fentanyl inside their vehicle.

Camy and Loudon were subsequently arrested, transported to the Humboldt County Correctional Facility, and booked for the following charges:
Keara Loudon:
- Providing False Identification to a Peace Officer—PC 148.9
- Possession of a Controlled Substance—H&S 11350
- Possession of a Controlled Substance—H&S 11377
Rick Camy:
- Possession of a Controlled Substance with Prior Drug Convictions—H&S 11395(b)(1)
- Possession of a Controlled Substance—H&S 11377(a)
- Possession of a Controlled Substance—H&S 11350
- Probation Violation—PC 1203.2
Following the arrests, the deputy obtained a search warrant for Loudon’s residence on Rio Dell Avenue, Rio Dell. The search yielded additional narcotics, a digital scale, and drug paraphernalia, resulting in the following additional charges against Loudon:
- Possession of a Controlled Substance for Sale—H&S 11351
- Possession of a Controlled Substance for Sale—H&S 11378
- Committing a Felony While Released on Bail—PC 12022.1
