A hiker last seen Monday, February 16th, prompted an extensive search involving multiple agencies including assets from U.S. Coast Guard Air Station North Bend, Josephine County Sheriff’s Office Search and Rescue and local responders.
An MH-65 Dolphin helicopter crew from Coast Guard Air Station North Bend conducted multiple searches throughout the week, while the Josephine County Sheriff’s Office Search and Rescue teams conducted searches on the ground.
On Friday morning, February 20th, the 26 year old missing hiker was located by ground crews in Oregon’s Illinois River Valley near Greenwall Rapids.
The Coast Guard Air Station North Bend helicopter crew arrived on scene and hoisted the missing hiker to safety before transporting him to Bay Area Hospital in Coos Bay for evaluation.
