Around the World Bike Rider has Bike Stolen in Crescent City

Recent bike theft has left a 72-year-old man traveling around the world, on a bicycle, for his 7th time, without his bike. The theft occurred early Wednesday morning at Chevron South (Elk Valley & 101)in Crescent City.

Armando Basile has traveled around the world six times by bicycle and was currently attempting to make it a 7th time. Unfortunately, a local thief has interrupted Mr. Basil’s adventure.

Basile had just arrived in Crescent City at 5:30 am and stopped at the Chevron to rest and journal when the bicycle was stolen.

The bike has been found, however, unfortunately, all of Mr. Basil’s personal belongings attached to the bike have not been recovered.

Without his personal belongings, Mr. Basil’s journey has ended in a Crescent City gas station. On Saturday, May 18th, Mr. Basil will fly from San Francisco to Frankfurt.
