Several Little League baseball players from the southwest Oregon area returned home last week after participating in the 2019 Cooperstown Dreams Park American Youth Baseball 12-and-under Hall of Fame Invitational Tournament.

The American Youth Baseball 12-and-under Hall of Fame Invitational Tournament is a tournament consisting of 13 individual weekly tournaments including teams from all around the country. The Southern Oregon Renegades were selected to participate July 13th-19th.

Towards the end of these Little League players seasons, players throughout southwest Oregon had an opportunity to try-out for this tournament team. Brookings own Talan Pryor was selected to participate.

With the team selected from such a wide geographical area while the players were still playing for their respective teams, a practice together was all but impossible before leaving. After forming, the team played a couple local tournaments before leaving for Cooperstown, N.Y., the site of the Major League Baseball Hall of Fame.

After arriving in Cooperstown, the team checked into their barracks, where they would stay with the coaches the entire week.

The Renegades would advance from group play only to be eliminated in their second game of single elimination bracket play finishing with 5 wins and 3 loses. The Renegades placed 25th out of 104 teams after starting in bracket play as the 40th seed.

Talan Pryor #5 (Brookings), Jalen Riddle #6 (Coos bay), Lucas Falou #13 (Coos bay), Joe Herbert #7 (Coos bay), Aiden Nelson #9 (Coos bay) Ryder Easton #12 (Coos bay), Ryland O’Toole #3 (Roseburg) Colby O’Toole #4 (Roseburg), Daniel Withers #10 (Roseburg), Marcos Ulloa #8 (Klamath falls), Deshawn Carter #11 (Klamath falls), Mark Carpenter #2 (Klamath falls).

Congratulations to all of these fine young baseball players, and good luck in your future baseball careers. Thank You for representing the southwest Oregon Region so honorably.
