U.S. Coast Guard Locates and Tracks Containers Lost from Ship During Rough Seas

The U.S. Coast Guard reported Friday afternoon, October 22nd, that a large container ship just over 40 miles west of the northern most tip of Washington, and the entrance to the Straits of Juan de Fuca, had listed to its side after encountering rough seas.

Initial reports were that the inbound vessel en route to Canada had lost approximately 40 containers when the ship listed to its side, and that Coast Guard crews were monitoring several adrift shipping containers.
