On Tuesday afternoon, May 24th, Brookings Fire & Rescue, the Curry County Sheriff’s Department as well as the Cape Ferrelo Fire Department, were dispatched to Natural Bridges Recreation area regarding reports of a person clinging to a rock after going off a trail.
After being located, a Search and Rescue member with the aid of the fire departments, rappelled down the embankment to the victim, identified as a ‘visitor for Arizona’, attached a rope system to the victim and ascended back up to the main trail safely.
The victim was checked by medical personnel, and released to continue with their day.
