4.1 Magnitude Quake Strikes Off Eureka Followed by Two More Smaller Quakes

A 4.1 magnitude earthquake shook off the northern California coast Wednesday morning, January 11th, followed by two smaller quakes.

The U.S. Geological Society recorded a 4.1 magnitude earthquake just over 50 miles off the coast, southwest of Eureka, California, just after 9:20am Wednesday morning at a depth just over 11 miles.

Just after 6:00pm, Wednesday evening, January 11th, a 2.6 magnitude quake was recorded approximately 100 miles southwest of Eureka at a depth of 6 miles, followed by a 2.9 quake approximately 120 miles southwest of Eureka a couple hours later, just after 8:00pm.

No Tsunami warnings were issued.
