In a Sunday afternoon press release, the Crescent City Police Chief, Richard Griffin updated the situation regarding the shooting that took place Wednesday evening, May 28th, at the Safeway parking lot that sent one to the hospital and put both Russell Walters Sr. and Russell Walters Jr. under active arrest warrants in connection with the original shooting.
According to the press release, Russell Walters Jr. and Russell Walters Sr. were both taken into custody in Citrus Heights, California, Sunday.
Chief Griffin went on to thank the Citrus Heights Police Department Investigators and SWAT Team for their cooperation in serving a search warrant at a residence in their jurisdiction.
“We will continue to work with the Del Norte County District Attroney’s Office to present them a complete investigation for prosecution.” Chief Griffin said.
