Coos County Sheriff’s Deputies and Bandon Police Officers Arrest Man after Report of Shots Fired

On Thursday afternoon, June 12th, 2025, Coos County Sheriff’s deputies with the Bandon Police Department, responded to a report of shots fired on Marple Lane in Bandon.

A local resident reported that they had confronted a man, later identified as 45 year old Joshua Pittman, on their property and after a brief dispute, Pittman was asked to leave and walked further up the road.

The resident later checked their driveway and saw Pittman pull a silver firearm from his waistband and fire a round into the ground.

Deputies with K9 Poe, with Chief Dhillon of the Bandon Police Department located Pittman emerging from nearby brush. A deputy secured the firearm as evidence.

Pittman was arrested for Menacing and Unlawful Use of a Weapon and taken to Coos County Jail. On Friday, June 13th, Pittman appeared in court and was released on his own recognizance.
