On Wednesday evening, July 9th, the Del Norte Sheriff’s Search and Rescue team and Crescent City Police officers responded to a call regarding a subject at Battery Point Lighthouse who was unable to get back to shore.
It was determined that the individual was intoxicated and had decided to swim out to the lighthouse right before high tide.
Officers stood by and observed the Del Norte Sheriff’s Search and Rescue team as they rescued the subject, securing the subject before the individual was transported to Sutter Coast Hospital.
