On Thursday, July 10th, Crescent City Police officers were dispatched to a report of a person slumped over the steering wheel at the drive through of the McDonald’s located off of northbound Hwy.101 in Crescent City.
The vehicle, and the individual slumped over the steering wheel, were quickly located by officers upon arrival. Officers were able to wake up the woman, identified as 31 year old Brittany Brinsfield, before she was immediately attended to by medical staff.
Before an investigation was conducted by officers inside Brinsfield’s vehicle, several items of narcotic paraphernalia were identified by officers in plain view.
Brinsfield was then evaluated for Driving Under the Influence and subsequently arrested for suspicion of DUI – under the influence of narcotics.
During a search of her vehicle officers located several items of drug paraphernalia as well as 15.3 grams (net weight) of suspected methamphetamine.
Brinsfield was later booked into the Del Norte County Jail on multiple charges.
