After the Oregon State Police, in coordination with local, state, and federal partners, served multiple search warrants Thursday morning, May 15th, at the West Coast Game Park Safari near Bandon, the former owner of the park, 53 year old Brian Scott Tenney and 30 year old Edith Beckner of Bandon were arrested by the Bandon Police on multiple charges regarding the conditions the animals were subjected to.
The two were arrested after Coos County grand jury indicted Tenney on 371 charges of which 327 are felonies, including 20 counts of unlawful possession of wildlife, a misdemeanor under Oregon law, and 351 counts of animal neglect in the second degree, a Class C felony.
These charges are in addition to charges assessed after Tenney was arrested and transported to Coos County Jail Tuesday, May 27th, on charges of methamphetamine possession, manufacturing, and attempted distribution after approximately 80 grams of methamphetamine, 8 grams of cocaine, along with roughly $1.6 million in cash, cashier’s checks, bonds and certificates as well as 44 firearms, including one modified into a machine gun was discovered by authorities.
