Early Sunday evening, August 31st, Grants Pass Police Officers responded to an address on SW Foundry regarding a reported assault between residents on the same property just after 8:00pm.
First arriving officers discovered a neighbor providing emergency care to the victim, a 38 year old female with a serious cut to her neck.

Law enforcement officers continued lifesaving efforts until Grants Pass Fire/Rescue and American Medical Response arrived on-scene. The victim was initially treated at Three Rivers Medical Center and transferred to Rogue Regional Medical Center in Medford.
The male suspect, identified as 46 year old Jeremy Johnson, was taken into custody for the attack and Grants Pass Police Department detectives took over the investigation at that point.
Johnson was lodged at the Josephine County Jail in multiple charges, including, Attempted Murder, Assault 1, and Unlawful Use of a Weapon.
