On Friday, October 24th, the City of Brookings announced the arrival of two new Ford Lightning Trucks, equipped with onboard generators, that will be utilized to support Police and Public Works operations.
The trucks, purchased with a grant through the Oregon Department of Transportation Carbon Reduction Program, and $15,000 in federal tax credits, are “a real win for Brookings,” Brookings Mayor Isaac Hodges said.
The installation of the level 2 charging station with two plug outlets at City Hall is expected to be completed in 2026.
