The Curry County Sheriff`s Dispatch received a 911 call from a Port Orford resident early Monday evening, December 1st, just after 6:30pm.
The caller, identified as Ashley Shoop, stated that she was mushroom picking with two other individuals, identified as Joseph and Jolene Gish in the Humbug area and became lost.

The trio advised that they were lost and going in circles in a wooded area around Humbug mountain area for the last hour and a half.
Sheriff`s Office dispatchers were able to obtain GPS coordinates from the cell phone data and determined the three were in the Brush Creek area, east of Humbug and U.S. Highway 101.
After looking at the GPS coordinates obtained from dispatch, a Curry County Sheriff`s deputy determined that the area was located on Chinook timberlands.
The Curry County Sheriff`s deputy and two Search and Rescue volunteers arrived in the area just after 7:15pm, quickly locating the three subjects white van approximately one mile from Hwy. 101 before hearing voices in the wooded area near the vehicle.
All three subjects safely made it out of the woods and to their vehicle unharmed.
