Head coach Kara Morris and her 6-0 undefeated Bruin girls varsity basketball team, hosted the Rogue River Lady Chieftains Friday evening.

Coming off a convincing win against Cascade Christian in Medford earlier in the week, the Bruin girls wasted no time establishing control of the game from the opening tip, running up an 11-2 lead midway through the first period before defensively shutting down the Lady Chieftains offense and finishing the first period with a 25 point 27-2 lead.

The suffocating Bruin girls defense did not allow the Rogue River girls an opportunity to create any continuity by trapping and attacking the basket. The Lady Chieftains had no answer for the Bruin girls onslaught as they found the basket for 25 more points in the second period to take a 52-4 Bruin girls lead into the half-time break.

After the break, the Lady Chieftains came out more aggressively applying pressure to the Bruin girls attack with more physical defensive play, allowing the Bruin girls only 16 points in the period. However, the Bruin girls defense continued to dominate, holding the Lady Chieftains to just one basket in the period on their way to a commanding 68-6 lead into the fourth period.

Bruin girls head coach Kara Morris emptied the bench in the fourth, and the game became a track meet with end to end action as the Lady Chieftains offense looked to find some points late in the game, but the Bruin girls would ultimately hold on to take the 70-14 win and continue riding momentum late in the season.

The Bruin girls will match-up with the 2-5 Lakeview Lady Honkers in Medford next Tuesday with tip-off scheduled for 5:30pm.
