Suspected Drug Deals Reported by Citizen, Leads to 53.7 grams of Meth, $1,072 in U.S. Currency, and One Arrest

On Thursday, February 5th, Officers with the Crescent City Police Department responded to a report of suspected narcotics activity at the Jed Smith Shopping Center parking lot after a citizen reported witnessing two apparent drug transactions and provided detailed suspect information, including a possible first name.

Using the information provided, Officers identified the suspect as 50 year old Isaac Cunningham before locating Cunningham near the Tsunami Plaza shopping area approximately 30 minutes later.

Cunningham matched the description provided by the reporting party and following further investigation, Cunningham was arrested for being in possession of a controlled substance.

Subsequent to the arrest, officers located approximately 53.7 grams of suspected methamphetamine packaged separately in a manner consistent with sales. $1,072 in U.S. currency, believed to be proceeds from narcotics sales and funds intended for the purchase of additional controlled substances was also located.

Cunningham was booked into the Del Norte County Jail on multiple charges, including, possession of a controlled substance, possession of a controlled substance for sales, transportation of a controlled substance for sales, possession of controlled substance paraphernalia, and possession of a controlled substance with priors.
