Hwy. 101 Crash Sends Two to the Hospital

On Tuesday afternoon, June 22nd, the California Highway Patrol was advised of a major injury vehicle collision involving a semi-truck on U.S. Hwy. 101.

The collision, involving Dominic Russell Haseltine out of Brookings, Oregon, who was driving a 2005 Kia Sportage, and Coos Bay, Oregon resident, Michael Craig Sanford, operating a Babich Trucking Semi tractor-trailer, occurred after Haseltine was making a left turn onto U.S. Hwy. 101 northbound from Xaa-wan’-k’wvt RV Park in Smith River.

The California Highway Patrol is investigating this crash, and drugs or alcohol do not appear to be a factor in this crash

Both drivers were transported to Sutter Coast Hospital for injuries.
