Multiple agencies, including the Oregon State Police were dispatched to a fatal two vehicle crash on Highway 101 near Port Orford in Curry County on Friday, June 26th, that closed HWY. 101 for two hours as an on scene investigation was conducted at approximately 8:20am.
The preliminary investigation indicated a black Chrysler Pacifica, operated by 18 year old Luke Anree May Dizon of Covington Washington, was traveling northbound on Hwy. 101 near Port Orford when it drifted into the oncoming lane and collided head-on with a small school bus that had been converted into a motorhome.

Luke Dizon, identified as the operator of the Chrysler, was declared deceased at the scene and had reportedly fallen asleep at the wheel.
18 year old Maryanne Drake of Auburn Washington, a passenger in the Chrysler Pacifica was transported to an area hospital with serious injuries and the two other adult passengers in the Chrysler were transported to an area hospital with minor injuries while one adult Chrysler passenger was uninjured.
The operator of the converted motorhome, identified as 73 year old David Eugene Johansen, of Fort Bragg was reportedly not injured.
