Just before 2:30pm Thursday afternoon, April 15th, the Illinois Valley Fire District was dispatched to a “smoke investigation” in the area of the Illinois Valley Airport.
First arriving crews came upon a fully involved structure on 120 Airport Dr., and were advised once on scene that the double wide mobile home structure had been abandoned at the time of the fire.
Illinois Fire District was assisted by Rural Metro Fire, and the Oregon Department of Forestry were able to contain any fire spread to surrounding vegetation to a small area and an extensive investigation is now underway.
