Authorities Use Social Media to Reunite Toddler with Family

On Thursday, March 29th authorities received a phone call from an employee of a local bank who had just witnessed a 2-3-year-old girl cross Williams Hwy in Grants Pass by her self and approached the bank.

Officers from the Grants Pass Dept. of Public Safety responded to the Banner Bank on Williams Hwy. and located the child.

Once the child was determined to be safe, one officer sat with the child on the steps of the business to make her feel safe, officers began checking the area for any concerned parents and were unsuccessful.

31 yr. old Robert Alan Mugleston.

During further investigation, it was learned the child had been located near the roadway earlier in the day and was returned home prior to crossing the busy highway later in the day.

Based upon the information obtained during the investigation, Robert Alan Mugleston was taken into custody on the charge of Child Neglect 2 and lodged at the Josephine County Jail.

The department would like to share our appreciation to all the citizens who helped ensure the safety of the child and spread the message which helped identify the child who was home safely within that day.
