BHHS Head Football Coach Bavaro Talks Bruin Football

Summer break is over, and in high school football terms, that means that BHHS Bruin Fall Football Camp is over and the hard work of getting ready for a tough season has begun.

Fall Camp went well and we feel that we are ahead of where we were at this time last year. Our team captains have worked all off-season on determining what we stand for and how we want to shape our team. Our focus is growth in all phases of the program, and as a coach, I can see some of that work already paying off during Fall Camp. Being ahead of where we were last year at this time is a huge advantage for us as a team and shows we are growing as a program.

We had our Blue and Gold game and came away with some positives that we can implement into our program where we still have room for improvement in all facets of the game.

Having much of coaching staff returning from last year has allowed us to hit the ground running at a faster pace. Better organization and efficiency has allowed the staff a higher quality of time with the kids. The kids are starting to understand the importance of how and why we practice at such a high tempo and it helped us come out of Fall Camp further ahead to close out our pre-season.

Looking ahead, we are now excited to start game prep to host the Panthers from Gold Beach High School at 7:00 pm, this Friday night, at Brookings-Harbor High School Stadium. With the students headed back to school with different schedules every day, first week games are always tricky.
