Bruin girls varsity softball hosted their first regular season game after putting together a strong pre-season, taking on a fundamentally strong Douglas Lady Trojan team in a double header Tuesday afternoon.

The Bruin girls started strong holding the Lady Trojans scoreless in the first before moving a runner into scoring position and getting that runner across the plate to take an early 1-0 lead after the first.

Sophomore Ella Reneau, #5, with the hit.

Douglas would score in the top of the third but the Bruin girls would put together some hits in the bottom of the second and third innings holding onto a lead going into the fourth inning before the Douglas bats came alive, scoring to take the lead.

The Bruin girls would struggle with some timely errors defensively and at the plate as the Lady Trojans established a lead that they would hold on to to take the 3-14 win in the first game.

Senior Lily Corrigan, #15, squaring up the hit.

The Lady Trojans would continue their strong offensive performance into the second game of the double header and would go on to keep the Bruin girls bats quiet as Douglas would go on to sweep the Bruin girls Tuesday afternoon taking he second game 3-16.
