Bruins Varsity Soccer Roll the Red Devils

Izahia Bruce #4 looks on as Sam Broberg #10 advances the ball against the Red Devils.

The train that is the Bruin Brookings-Harbor High School varsity boys soccer team rolls on, maintaining their unbeaten streak with just 3 games left in league play.

After being challenged last week by Douglas and Marshfield, the varsity boys decided this week that they weren’t going to waste any time putting the Coquille / Myrtle Red Devil game in the books early.

Just minutes into the game senior midfielder #10 Sam Broberg set up #13 Junior forward Luke Beaman for a strike that would be the first goal of the game.

Luke Beaman #13 frustrated the Red Devils with 3 goals on the day.

That same scenario would play out almost exactly the same just minutes later, and Broberg would record his second assist as Beaman found the net yet again, putting the Bruins up 2-0 very early in the match.

Forward Luke Beaman would go on to have a 3 goal hat-trick in the first half of play as the Bruins would control the play from end to end of the pitch as well as the clock.

The Bruins displayed their defense by outplaying the Red Devils trapping and frustrating them at every opportunity and allowing the Red Devils one score.

Brookings-Harbor had goals from #7 Jair Valdovinos, #10 Sam Broberg, #8 Roman Worthey and would go on to an 11-1 victory making them 7-0 and undefeated in league play.

Thursday, October 12th, the Bruins will attempt to maintain their undefeated record when they face-off against 3-1-3 North Bend Bulldog team at home.

If you like good soccer, and you want to support our undefeated Bruin Varsity Boys team, be at Bruin field at 5:00 PM this Thursday, and be loud.
