Car Crashes into Fred Meyer Gas Station

According to information released by the Brookings Police Department Tuesday, early Tuesday morning, December 17th, at approximately 3:00am, a Buick LaCrosse traveling south on Hwy. 101 left the roadway just before the Hwy. 101 and 5th Street intersection.

The vehicle, after leaving the roadway, traveled down the embankment, crashed into the Fred Meyer gas station, and struck a fuel pump.

The crash caused considerable damage to the fuel pump before finally coming to rest in the fuel station area.

No serious injuries were reported although Mr. Wallace was taken and treated at the Curry Health’s Brookings emergency room.

The cause of the crash is currently under investigation.
