Car Thieves Elude Police after Crashing Vehicles

On Sunday evening, just before 6:30 pm, a Central Point Officer observed two vehicles traveling together on Beall Lane in Central Point. One vehicle was a maroon 2016 Ford Explorer and the other was a blue 1988 Toyota 4Runner. The Ford Explorer had switched license plates and the 4Runner did not have license plates.

The Officer believed the Toyota 4Runner was a recently reported stolen vehicle. Other Officers responded to assist and a traffic stop was attempted as the vehicles entered the city of Gold Hill. Both vehicles began to elude onto Hwy 234 toward Sam’s Valley.
