Changes Forecast as Work Week Progresses

Inland Air Quality Alerts continue across the region as trapped smoke from local area fires surrounding the area continue. Temperatures will remain mild as a trough of cool area begins to move into the region.

A relatively dry low pressure system is forecast to begin to push into the region from the northwest possibly bringing clouds into the area as it pushes to the east. By mid-week, the trough is expected to be replaced by a trough of stable air, returning warmer temperatures to the region.

In the valley, Air Quality Alerts remain indefinitely as area fires continue and smoke dispersal directions change with changing wind directions. Temperatures in the valley will remain relatively mild with highs remaining in the mid to upper 80’s and possibly reaching the 90’s in localized areas. Lows will be in the upper 40’s to low 50’s.

Drift smoke and haze will continue on the coast from surrounding fires including the Monument Fire and new Knob Fire in northern California. Breezy conditions under clear skies are forecast along southern Oregon and northern California coastal areas with increasing clouds beginning midweek. Highs are forecast to be in the mid 70’s, cooling as a northeast wind cools the area. Lows are expected to stay in the low 50’s.
