City of Brookings Announces Improvements to Bud Cross Park have Begun

The City of Brookings announced Friday, March 20th, that thanks to a generous lottery funds grant administered by Oregon State Parks, improvements to Bud Cross Park have begun.

The Bud Cross Park improvements are designed to transform an underutilized central area of the park, between the athletic fields, into a vibrant, inclusive day use and play space by enhancing access with new paved ADA pedestrian pathways that connect key amenities.

A new play structure and picnic area will be constructed over the next year. The adjacent concrete picnic area, shaded by newly planted trees, will create a welcoming place for families and community members to gather, rest, and enjoy the park outside of organized sports.

No existing facilities will be removed, and the new elements are designed to complement current amenities while supporting long-term goals for inclusive, multi-use public space.
