Colder Temperatures are Prelude to Wet Weather

A cold front that passed through Sunday night brought temperatures Monday 10 to 15 degrees below what they were both Saturday and Sunday.

The US National Weather Service is warning that wet weather returns late this week as a late-season atmospheric river and a series of storm systems will bring moderate to heavy rain and gusty southerly winds to much of the region Thursday through the end of the week.

Confidence is high that this series of events will bring significant rainfall to the area, but instability in the Pacific low will make it very difficult to forecast the exact timing and rainfall amounts with each round of rain.

Small stream flooding is possible. Mainstem rivers are expected to see rapid rises, but flooding is not expected.
