Crescent City Police Continue Search for Man After Attacking Woman

On Monday, May 24th, the Crescent City Police Department were dispatched reports of a possible domestic battery on North Highway 101.  

Upon arrival Crescent City Police Department Officers contacted the victim and learned that the victim had been attacked in her sleep and awoken by being struck in the face several times by the suspect, who was also making threats to kill her.  

The suspect, later identified as 29 year old Skyler Stewart, then used a handheld torch to light a blanket on fire that the victim was underneath of. Stewart had also forcefully taking the victim’s cell phone from her possession during this incident so she could not call 911.

The Crescent City Police Department has established probable cause to arrest Stewart for Attempted Homicide, Corporal Injury to a Spouse, Criminal Threats, Arson, and Robbery.   Currently Crescent City Police Department Officers will be working with the Del Norte County District Attorney on this investigation as they continue to gather information and seek an arrest warrant.
