Drug Arrest Yields Nearly 2 Pounds of Meth

According to a press release from the Humboldt County Drug Task Force, on January 30th, at approximately 3:30pm, special agents with the Humboldt County Drug Task Force served a search warrant at a residence located in Eureka. During their multi-week investigation agents received information the resident, 31 year old Ramon Leonicio Moreno-Munguia, was selling methamphetamine throughout Humboldt County. Moreno-Munguia is currently on probation previous for narcotics violations.

Agents detained Moreno-Munguia in a vehicle a short distance from his home. During a search of Moreno-Munguia’s residence, agents located nearly two pounds of suspected methamphetamine packaged for sales. Agents also located digital scales and other items often associated with narcotics sales.

In addition, agents seized nearly $3,000 in U.S. currency that is believed to be the proceeds of narcotics sales. This currency will be held pending future asset forfeiture proceedings.

Moreno-Munguia was subsequently placed under arrest and booked into the Humboldt County Correctional Facility for transportation and possession of controlled substances for sales and violation of probation.
