Fire Destroys Home on Halloween Night

On Thursday night, October 31, the Illinois Valley Fire District was dispatched to a Structure Fire on Thompson Creek Rd. When the 1st unit arrived on scene the single story house was 80% engulfed in flames.

Pacific Power sent a lineman to disconnect the power from the house in order to protect the Firefighters from electric shock.

American Medical Response had a medical unit on standby at the scene in the event of any injury. Rural Metro Fire sent a mutual aid crew to assist Illinois Valley Fire.

Illinois Valley Fire CERT and Illinois Valley Fire Rehab units assisted the Firefighters.

Major Structure Fire

STRUCTURE FIRE ON THOMPSON CREEK RD Tonight October 31, at 9:19 PM Illinois Valley Fire District responded to a Structure Fire in the 5000 block of Thompson Creek Rd. The single story house was 80% engulfed in flames when the 1st unit arrived on scene. AMR had a medical unit standby at the scene in the event of any injury. Rural Metro sent a crew to assist IVFD. IVFD CERT and IVFD Rehab units assisted the Firefighters. Pacific Power sent a lineman to disconnect the power from the house in order to protect the Firefighters from electric shock. The cause of the fire is under investigation by IVFD Fire Marshal.
