Early on Friday morning, December 13, just after 1:30am, the Illinois Valley Fire District responded to a Structure Fire in the 700 block of Lakeshore Dr.
The wood frame house was mostly engulfed in flames when crews first arrived to the scene. Shortly after crews arrived at the first fire a second totally separate Structure Fire was reported.
The second fire was also located in the 700 Block of Lakeshore. At that time a second alarm was requested, and Fire units from Grants Pass and Rural Metro responded in response to the request. Both fires where quickly knocked down.
TWO SEPARATE STRUCTURE FIRE ON LAKESHORE DR. This morning, Friday, December 13, at 1:40 AM, Illinois Valley Fire District responded to a Structure Fire in the 700 block of Lakeshore Dr. When the first crew arrived the wood frame house was mostly engulfed in flames. Shortly after crews arrived at the first fire a second totally separate Structure Fire was reported. The second fire was also located in the 700 Block of Lakeshore. At that time a second alarm was requested, and Fire units from Grants Pass and Rural Metro responded in response to the request. Both fires where quickly knocked down. Pacific Power responded and disconnected the power to both houses in order to protect the firefighters. IVFD Rehab provided assistance to the firefighters. While IVFD CERT set up traffic control, provided scene lighting and filled air bottles.
