Gold Beach Police Arrest Juvenile with a Gun Who Had Been Threatening Others

According to a Gold Beach Police Department press release, on Wednesday, September 13th, the Gold Beach Police Department received information regarding a juvenile male threatening to shoot or harm other juveniles with the threats coming at different times and at different locations with the city of Gold Beach.

Gold Beach Police learned that the suspect was reported to be in possession of a handgun as officers looked for the suspect into Wednesday evening.

An off-duty Port Orford Police Detective reported that he had located the suspect at Gold Beach Market in Gold Beach at approximately 10:00pm.

Gold Beach Police responded to the market and requested assistance from the Curry County Sheriff’s Office before Gold Beach Police contacted and detained the suspect at the Gold Beach Market.  

During initial contact with the suspect, Gold Beach Police located a loaded 40 caliber semi-automatic weapon on the suspect, who was then taken into custody and transferred to the Curry County Juvenile Department without incident.
