Medford:

Inland, expect widespread moderate to heavy rain, with gusty winds in the Shasta Valley and across the East Side. Minor rock and mudslides are possible in the mountainous terrain and ponding of water is expected on roadways. Gusty winds Tuesday morning could make driving high profile vehicles over the mountain passes difficult. Snow levels will be over 5,000 feet for this system.

The National Weather Service has issued a Beach Hazards Statement which is in effect from 4:00 am Monday through 4:00 am Tuesday.

A long period northwest swell will move through the coastal waters and enhance the risk of sneaker waves on northwest California beaches. Steep beaches will have a higher risk of sneaker wave activity with greater wave run-up onto beaches. Large waves will also wash over jetties and rock outcroppings that may normally stay dry. Surf will continue to build beyond Monday, with large breaking waves expected Tuesday and Wednesday as well.
