Hwy. 101 remains open Friday morning after re-opening Thursday afternoon at approximately 4:30pm.
Hwy. 101 was open Thursday morning with delays as CalTrans monitored the area for safety, however, a slide did occur closing Hwy. 101 which was then cleared and re-opened at 3:15pm Thursday afternoon.
Just 30 minutes later at 3:45pm Hwy. 101 was closed again at Last Chance Grade, south of Crescent City, due to additional slide activity with no estimated time for reopening.
At 4:30pm Hwy. 101 was re-opened and remains open to one-way traffic control with one-hour delays at Last Chance Grade. This is subject to change if additional slide activity occurs.
CalTrans continues monitoring of the area 24 hours a day to ensure safety and road conditions are subject to change if additional slide activity occurs.
