CalTrans has announced that Route 199 is fully closed starting at its intersection with Route 197, west of Hiouchi, and extending to the California/Oregon Border due to fire. No estimated time for reopening. We will provide updates as they become available.
The Del Norte County Sheriff’s Office has issued evacuations for Gasquet and surrounding area to evacuate NOW. Fire is now surrounding the bug station. Evacuate south to the Fairgrounds and await further information. Do NOT wait.
