Interrupted Burglary in Harbor Leads to Cache of Stolen Property and 2 Arrests

The Curry County Sheriff’s Office dispatch center received a report of an interrupted Burglary Thursday, February 1st, at a residence on Oceanview Drive in Harbor.  

Within minutes, a Sheriff’s Deputy paroling in the area, arrived on scene, and located one of the suspects still inside the residence.  

It was revealed in the subsequent investigation, that two suspects had unlawfully entered the residence that had been vacant since the owner’s death and had been stealing personal items from the residence including thousands of dollars’ worth of household items such as tools, home décor, computer equipment and irreplaceable memorabilia.  

Two individuals, identified as 35 year old Mandi Marie Burkhow and 43 year old year old Kenneth Travis Davis were both arrested and lodged in the Curry County Jail for Burglary, Theft and Criminal Mischief.  

Numerous people were interviewed by Deputies in the weeks that followed and investigators were ultimately able to execute a search warrant on a nearby residence.

Through the course of the investigation, Deputies recovered a multitude of stolen property including tools, freezers, computer equipment, home décor, fencing material, fishing gear, irreplaceable family heirlooms and memorabilia.

The items were positively identified and safely returned to the family.  

Through the course of their investigation, Deputies also recovered additional items that are believed to be stolen in connection with other recent Burglaries and Thefts.

Deputies are continuing to diligently work on this case to ensure that all of the stolen property is returned to the rightful owners and that additional involved suspects are held accountable for their criminal involvement.
