K-9 Officer Tracks 3 After Shots Fired During Medford Convenience Store Robbery

Very early Wednesday morning, November 10th, Medford Police Officers were dispatched to reports of an armed robbery with shots fired at the 7-11 located on E. McAndrews, at about 2:19am.

As Officers responded to the scene, a witness provided the direction of travel of three male suspects, who had fled on foot. A Medford Police K-9 unit was dispatched to the scene and Medford K-9 Officer “Bones” led the search for the three suspects.  

The clerk had followed the suspects into the parking lot as they fled, and one of the suspects fired several rounds towards the employee. No one was struck during the discharging of the firearm.

Just over 30 minutes after initial reports, the three suspects were located in a backyard by Medford K-9 Officer “Bones” at 2:51am. The stolen property, as well as the handgun used during the robbery were recovered, and investigation revealed the three suspects had entered the store, steeling beer and cigarettes before fleeing. Afterwards, the suspects ran to a home they were staying at, where they were tracked down by the K-9 Officer, and located in the backyard.  

The three suspects, 18 year old Alexander Shirmard, Chance Hahn, and 22 year old Beau West were apprehended and are being held on multiple charges including Conspiracy to Commit Robbery, Theft, and Firearm charges as well as others.
