Lady Bruins Out Hit in Fridays Double Header

Sophomore Gracie Harms #27 started both games of the double dip.

Head Coach Tony Baron’s Lady Bruin softball team hosted the undefeated South Umpqua Lancers Friday afternoon and struggled to put runs on the board against a strong Lancer team.

The Lady Lancers were aggressive with their bats hitting Lady Bruin pitchers hard. This put significant pressure on the Lady Bruin defense. Situational hitting advanced Lady Lancer runners throughout the day as they forced the Lady Bruin defense to make plays.

Freshman third baseman Madison Taylor #22 hitting a powerful line drive homerun.

The undefeated Lady Lancers racked up 32 runs off of 24 hits between both games of the doubleheader. The Lady Bruin offense just could not sustain a rally as inconsistent hitting plagued them in both games. Lady Bruin freshman third baseman Madison Taylor #22 hit a powerful line drive home run in the fourth inning as the Lady Bruins attempted to put together a rally.

The Lady Bruin defense struggled to handle the barrage of hits from the top-ranked Lady Lancer offense. On the day, the Lady Bruins committed 9 errors between both games as they dealt with Lady Lancer runners on the base paths in every inning.

The Lady Bruins will be on the road next Monday in Winston against a 1-6 Douglas Lady Trojan team at 5:00 pm.
